Hi!

Our names are Camilo and Kayla, and we are two orcas in a pod. We are very excited for this opportunity to join Global Vets 2023. We have both worked in small animal emergency and general practice services but have always dreamt of volunteering abroad to work with wildlife. Therefore, this summer we have a four-week trip to Laos and Thailand to work in wildlife and shelter medicine projects! The first two weeks will be in Laos at the Lao Conservation Trust for Wildlife with species we have never worked with before – such as primates, bears, and clouded leopards. The last two weeks will be in Thailand at the Soi Dog Foundation working with stray dogs and cats, which will strengthen the small animal skills we have learned in veterinary school. Additionally, as we volunteer in each location, we will learn about the local culture and the different perspectives on life with animals. We look forward to sharing our journey with you!
