Meet Emma

HELLO! My name is Emma and I’m stoked to travel to Africa this summer to learn about international veterinary medicine. I am eager to learn about the culture and veterinary practises, and hopefully, be able to apply new skills and values to my life back home. I am excited to begin this adventure, diversify my veterinary education, immerse myself into the South African culture, create bonds with new people and spend the summer with 2 of my best friends at OVC!

Meet Michelle

Hi, my name is Michelle Marcus, and I am thrilled to be travelling to South Africa to work with wildlife and companion animals! I have been hoping to participate in Global Vets since being accepted to the Ontario Veterinary College, and am very grateful for this opportunity. I have dreamed of going to Africa and volunteering with the beautiful wildlife, and am hoping to assist with their conservation. I am excited to meet with local people and to learn from them. I am passionate about community outreach and the importance of practising veterinary medicine at a lower cost to meet the needs of impoverished areas. I am looking forward to connecting with colleagues from across the world and immersing myself in the local culture. I am also excited about volunteering internationally with two of my best friends, and making memories that will last a lifetime!
